Dr. Bradley M. Smith, Senior Pastor
Dr. Bradley Smith is pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Schaumburg, IL. A native of Denver Colorado, Brad Smith graduated from Bob Jones University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Speaking and in 1982 with a Master of Arts in Theology. An honorary doctorate was conferred upon him by Ambassador Baptist College in 2006. Since 1983, Pastor Brad has served on pastoral staff at Bethel in various capacities; he became senior pastor on January 3, 1999. Pastor Smith is director of Mid-America Baptist Fellowship and president of Illinois Association of Christian Schools and Schaumburg Christian School. He currently serves on the boards of Baptist World Mission, Bob Jones University, Fundamental Baptist Fellowship International, and International Baptist Missions. Brad and his wife Priscilla have three adult children and enjoy leading tours of Bible lands and visiting mission fields.

Pastor Mark Coleman, Deaf Ministry
Pastor Mark Coleman graduated from Bob Jones University with a B.A. in Sacred Music. For fifteen years he served as a church and Christian school music director in Twin Falls, Idaho and in 1990 became involved in his church’s deaf ministry. Mark studied American Sign Language and deaf culture at the College of Southern Idaho and worked at the Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind as a dormitory supervisor. In 1995, Mark came to Bethel Baptist Church to become the Deaf Ministry Pastor. He currently serves on the board of Deaf Baptist Fellowship of America and Silent Word Ministries International. Mark and his wife, Jan, have three adult daughters, two deaf sons-in-law, and three grandchildren.

Pastor Bob Cook, Administrative Pastor
After serving the Lord for many years as a layman, the Lord called Pastor Bob Cook into full-time ministry. He received a master’s degree in Biblical Counseling from Bob Jones University and was ordained to the gospel ministry. His desire is to see families come to Christ and believers grow in their Christlikeness. Pastor Cook coordinates the adult education ministries at Bethel including the adult Sunday school and Schaumburg Bible Institute. He also directs the HomeBuilders ministry for young married couples and oversees the administrative and financial aspects of Bethel Baptist Ministries. He and his wife Jean, and three sons reside in Streamwood.

Pastor David Doiel, Discipleship Pastor
Pastor Dave Doiel was saved at the age of 23. He served as our Youth Pastor for two years and is currently our Discipleship Pastor. He has a B.S. Degree in Human and Family Resources from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Ministry from Northland Baptist Bible College. Before he was saved he received experience in the field of counseling as a psychiatric technician, family liaison, and probation officer. Dave and his wife Tammy have four children: Kaylin, Karis, Kristiana and Joshua. They reside in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Pastor Dave Jaspers, Annex Pastor/Staff Evangelist
With over thirty-two years of ministry experience, Pastor Dave Jaspers serves as Bethel's Annex Pastor. He is a fulltime resource to the many families who enroll their children in Schaumburg Christian School but do not have a church of their own. Pastor Jaspers spends much of his time doing family and marriage counseling. He also is available to parents when they wish to ask spiritual questions and learn more of Christianity. On a limited basis Pastor Jaspers continues to travel as an evangelist to local churches as he has done for most of his ministry years. Pastor Jaspers teaches the Lamplighters (ages 60+) Sunday School class. Dave and Kathy Jaspers have been married for over thirty-five years and have two adult children. Mrs. Jaspers teaches 6th grade for Schaumburg Christian School.

Pastor Dan Leeper, Youth Pastor
Dan Leeper began serving as the youth pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in 2008. He graduated from Bob Jones University with a B.A. in Bible in 2005 and an M.A. in Bible in 2006. In 2008, Dan finished his M.Div. at Heart of America Seminary, which is a ministry of Tri-City Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. He desires that teens would grow in their passion for knowing Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Dan and his wife, Holly, were married in 2005 and have two sons, Carson & Malachi.

Pastor Scott Mayer, Music Pastor
Pastor Scott Mayer completed bachelors and masters degrees in Church Music at Bob Jones University with proficiencies in piano and choral conducting. He also taught piano at the University while employed as a Graduate Assistant in the Division of Music. He has served as pianist and organist for evangelistic meetings throughout the United States, and his improvisational skills continue to be in great demand. He has been teaching private lessons and directing choirs and ensembles at Schaumburg Christian School since 1993 and was named Minister of Music at Bethel Baptist Church in 1999. He and his wife, Kathy, reside in Hanover Park. They were married in 1994 and have 4 boys.

Pastor Josh Plonk, Children and Bus Pastor
Children have a special place in Pastor Plonk's heart. God is allowing him to take part in helping kids mold their lives into the image of Christ. He received his B.A. in Practical Christian Training from Bob Jones University in 2002. Pastor Plonk married his wife Michelle in 2004.

Mr. Pat Whisnant, Facilities Manager
In 2003, Pat came to Bethel to serve the Lord in the ministry of maintaining our physical plant and grounds. Pat excels in the area of Building Engineering and Property Management and has 11 years of ministry experience. He and his wife Betty have three adult children and five grandchildren.

James White, School Administrator
Since 2001, James White has served on the staff of Bethel Baptist Church and Schaumburg Christian School. James is a graduate of SCS and received a B.A. degree from Bob Jones University in 1992. James has served in various capacities including teacher, assistant principal, assistant minister of music, and minister of music. James and his wife Tami have three boys and live in Streamwood, Illinois.
